These are medium size, maybe 6" full grown (leg 1 to leg 8, diagonal measurement)

Here's a pic of one on my hand for a size reference

Do you handle them?

Despite the above pic, no, not really :) T's may tolerate some handling but, IMO, are always wild critters.

Awww~ Beautiful big tarantula.~

I saw a Skeleton Leg in Florida for sale and really wanted it... until I learned about their general temperament, lol~ I'm still looking for just the right one. I don't want one too quick and can handle a rating of Medium on venom. It's disheartening, though, 'cause all the ones I find so striking are either fast or have high venom. D:

I recently learned how misunderstood they are. I'm honestly terrified of spiders, but who knew I'd end up falling for the biggest of them? Now I'm not as fearful of spiders in general, but other spiders still tend to irk me when they pop up. ;c

I've got a rose hair tarantula that's 8 years old. Do you feed him pinkies. I only did it a couple times.

Beautiful pictures, I like spiders better on/near other people though :P

This picture is the first thing that came to mind when I saw your pictures (even though it's a different kind of spider)

That's why I practice 'cup and release' when I catch them in my house LOL.

@snake man12:

No, I've never fed my T's anything other than crickets. Roaches disgust me and feeding pinks is supposed to be a real mess.

I do too. But something that big would send me into a screaming fit running through the house to get my can of hairspray.

Really beautiful spider; they look happy and healthy for sure. A T was one of my first animals, and they are such interesting pets. Of course the first one I had proceeded to immediately show me how good they are at getting out of their enclosures. After scouring the room for it, I had given up hope on finding it when I stood up and noticed it right above my head on the wall. Im not afraid of them, but there is something disconcerting about trying to remove a spider that large from a perch above your head!
