So I got a new addition a while back who I've named Myra. She's a Carpet Python, though, I'm not so sure what she is...

The guy said Jag Siblings when he put them on his facebook. I saw 'Jag' and thought 'Jaguar', but he later clarified that they weren't jaguars... just jags... I've, personally, never heard of a CP morph that's just called 'jag'. So, I'm a little confused as to what exactly he meant, then. Maybe you all can clear that up for me. :D

Anywho, she was only $40 as the man that runs Kentucky Reptile Expo is selling his entire collection, cages, etc. to focus more on promotions. He used to breed and sell, now he's just selling everything cheap. I've always adored CPs since I first held an adult Jungle, so I researched a little extra on my already existing knowledge and jumped right on that deal!

Just with the adults I once held, she seems to have a ton of curiosity of everything around her. I think it's just adorable. <3

Here's some pictures I've taken of her. It's a little hard 'cause she's always on the move.~

She's a cute little thing, congrats on the new addition. Carpets are awesome snakes. As far as the jaguar and sibling thing. The jaguar gene acts as co-dominant gene with the homozygous form being the lethal leucistic carpet python that usually doesn't even make it out of the egg. So when you breed a jaguar or jag(same thing) to a none jag carpet, the probability for each egg is 50% jag and 50% jag sibling. The siblings are nothing more than the normals that came from the clutch. Its the same as if you bred a pastel bp to a normal. 50% pastel and 50% normal. Now some people say that jag sibs look better than normal carpets and that since they came from a jag clutch they look better. As with most things in the reptile community, its mostly opinion. I've seen normal carpets that were awesome and I've seen jag sibs that were awesome. Hope this was helpful.

Jag and Jaguar are the same. A lot of people say Jag sibling like it makes them more special. When in truth they are just Coastal Carpet python. Now if it's a Jungle x Jag the non Jags would be a combo of Coastal x Jungle, so the could have white/cream marking like the Coastal or yellow like a Jungle.

Nice looking Carpet and for $40.00 you got a good deal. If it's a Jag sibling that means one of the parents was a Jag so what was the other?

Nice looking little Coastal. Looks like she is quite the prize!

Ohhh, yes, that makes much more sense, thanks.~ I'll be sure to swing a message his way and ask what the other parent was. :D And, yes, carpets are amazing <3 I'd love to have an Irian Jaya x Jag and a Diamond x Jungle in my 'collection' some day c:
