Hurricane Irene knocked out our power. Past 30 hours Ive been keeping my buddy alive with my own body heat and heating pads. Power came on and he instantly came out of his hide and climbed his tree tog et close to that oh so good warmth!!

Well it caused me to miss my first class today and backtrack my drive 30 minutes to take another route.

Destroyed a bunch of trees on our property, one of which fell down onto my winter car. The car took it like a champ haha. But it was an Ash tree(I think its called) and only the very top landed on it.

Power was out in my whole town, no water I needed to shave and shower for class but couldn't. So when I got to campus I took a "shower" in the sink of the bathroom. Couple people walked in and were like "WTF mate?"

All our food in the refridge went bad :( But no one got hurt that I know of so there's that! Thanks for asking

Bahaha hey, you got to do what you got to do :P

Mmm power outages are terrible, especially for people with LOTS of reptiles. I hope everyone was able to keep safe, and that their reptiles were also not hurt. The weather is starting to get ridiculous.

Especially since one of the reasons I chose not to move to Florida with my brother from another mother 2 years ago was because of hurricanes and the humidity! Both of which I've dealt with this summer in Pennsylvania...

But I've learned a valuable lesson and plan on getting a small propane heater to heat my bathroom(smallest room in house). If the power goes out ever again I'm gonna move him in there and just heat the room.

That's a pretty awesome idea. Lets hope that it doesn't happen again, but at least you'll be prepared if it does.

Irene was an interesting storm to say the least. Half my town got flooded and roads and bridges all ruined. I got really lucky though. We only lost power for about 1hr and I live on a hill so no water at my place. I couldn't get off my road though. I'm glad to read that you and your animals are all safe. I am watching the next hurricane and it's looking like it's going to take the same path.. lets hope not!

Where in PA are you? I was up visiting family near Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and they lost power and it's still out. My parents had a tree take out their garage and another one down in the front yard across the driveway. The basement flooded out and was covered with mud everywhere...it's the worst I've ever seen.

My house lost power for about an hour Saturday night, but other than that nothing happened. I'm glad you got your power back on and you and your snake are ok!

Haha I'm in Dallas, about 9 miles from Wilkes-barre!

But yea thank god for living on hills! All of my homes in my life will be on a mountain or hill of some sort if I have anything to say about it!
