ok, I know nothing about Jags, but how can he be only 75%???? what is the other 25%??

Unless I'm mistaken, the 75% refers to his lineage; he is 75% of Irian Jaya descent, 25% Jungle or other carpet. You're right, Jaguar is an expressed gene, so he's definitely Jaguar, and the 75% refers to the type of stock he came from :)

Congrats on the new addition, ij jags are awesome. They are right, the 75% is for how much Irian jaya blood he has and the 25% is for the coastal blood he has(the Jaguar gene is a coastal mutation). When you breed a normal ij to a pure coastal jag, you get 50% ij jags and sibs meaning 50% ij blood and 50% coastal blood. Then you take one of the 50% ij jags and breed it to a normal ij again and you end up with 75% ij jags and sibs. The percentages are just their to tell you how much ij blood is in the animal. It get really confusing when you have coastal, jungle, ij, and diamond blood all in one snake! Hope this made sense.

^^^^^
this

the 75% reffers to the irian in its genetics

there are no percentage of jag other than 100%

thats why when dealing with jags the percentage always reffers to the gentic lineage of the snake

you can tell just by looking if its a jag or not so no other explaination would be neccesary

who bred this one ?

cheers shaun

He was actually bred by a local, he owns the reptile store and breeds carpets and I believe green tree pythons, I was going to ask to see if they had more info on him. Apparently, one of their employees told me it was a offspring of 2 irian jayas, but the grand father or something happend to have the coastal in it.
