Was on a hike/herp trip (found a huuuuuuge nerodia sipedon) and this guy decided he would pose for me. It seemed like he wasn't even fazed by my presence! He's a wood frog (rana sylvatica) by the way.

Oh I miss Wood Frogs! Used to find them in the woods here all the time! Suddenly they disappeared...maybe pollution?! I haven't seen them for at least 10 years now. :(
PS: Fact about Wood Frogs: One of the only creatures capable of being frozen SOLID...and remain living! Don't believe me? Look it up! (Type of antifreeze in their blood that prevents the cells from breaking apart when frozen) OK so I'm an animal fact nerd.

Totally gotta try the whole freezing thing now....... well maybe not.
Totally gotta try the whole freezing thing now....... well maybe not.
A fact like that makes you want to try it, But also not wanting to harm the poor little thing.
I had the same thoughts :)
