So I'm going to be building 2 cages already for my beardie and brb.... then I may be making 2 2*2*2 enclosures for my normal ball and my albino... but I was thinking... I might make a 3rd of the 4*2*2' enclosures for maybe a red tail boa or something... I have enough room since I will be stacking them... what would you all suggest for a medium experienced snake person for a 4x2x2' enclosure? Maybe a SD retic?

Let me know..... and by the way * = x lol. Too complicated to type that on my phone...

Boa... but im a little biased. U may need a bigger viv for an adult female.

SD should be fine in one of those - but then i am biased too!!

They aren't outside of feeding, and if you learn to hook train even that is pretty routine for the most part.

I'll give my biased opinion, I'd go with a carpet. Nothing beats a nice carpet perched in a nice big cage.

4X2X2 would limit you regarding what carpets to own wouldn't it? What kinds stay small?

Coastal are the big boys. Irain Jaya, Bredli, Jungle all stay on the small side. With Jungles being the biggest of the three. Jungles top out around 6 to 7 feet. The other two stay under 6 feet. I am looking at our signature and thinking how nice it look if you had a Carpet in it.:)

Could always get both.:) Have you thought about Bloods or Borneo's.

lol, cant do both, im getting close the end of my collection, running out of room lol.

i want to stay away from bloods or borenos i always hear they are more on the agressive -ish side and i kinda want to avoid them...

correct me if im wrong...

Bloods and Borneos do tend to be more aggressive than carpets or RTBs, but it's all in how you raise them. I know plenty of people who have gorgeous, completely tame bloods. I personally think they are awesome, beautiful snakes. If you got a baby, you could handle it frequently and by the time it got larger it would be used to handling.

hmm.... desicions, desicions... lol im thinking between a blood, rtb, or maybe a smaller carpet...

I would have to say that is a great choice for a first carpet. An ij was my first snake and I've been hooked on carpets ever since.

I would go with a carpet. But I love carpets....Diamonds need a lot more room than that at adult size though, or so I have heard. No experience with them myself. Will be moving my coastal up from a ten gal to a larger homemafe soon.

A Irain Jaya would be able to live in that size cage for the rest of it live.
