i like to put the water dish on the cold side so it doesn't get hot and start growing bacteria.

would that really be a problem when you change the water daily??

Put my water dishes halfway between the middle of the cage, and the warm side. Allows more humidity, but not too much humidity.

ok, so the concensus is I need 2 water dishes, one of which is on the hot side and the other location varies due to humidity. Does this sound right?

I only have one on the cold end for my corn as they dont need that extra humidity here.

With snakes with no humidity needs i put waterbowl cold end, those with humidity needs i put an extra bowl at the hot end.

And corns have little to no humidity needs??

The breeder I was at said in our area it is humid enough and she only adds damp spaghnum moss at shed time.

I live in the fraser valley, BC and right now the outdoor humidity is 47% and our temp is 27 c.

I put them right in the middle between hides. That way they can grab a drink on the way past.

In the uk we consider corns to be "no humidity" snakes. Our relative humidity is never
lOwer than 50%

You'll be fine with a water dish on the colder end of the enclosure. Cornsnakes don't need extra humidity.

I personally place water dishes on the cold side and flip it to the hot side when they need a boost for shedding.

Put it on the cold end. And make sure the dish is big enough for the snake to get into. Though corn snakes don't usually soak like some do, one of my corns loved to soak and would be in the bowl quite often.

Alright, sounds good!! I am sure I'll be back with another question or two while setting everything up!!
