so I will be getting my first snake by next spring. I think I have it down to either a Corn or BP, but I want a hatchling. I live in The Fraser Valley, BC, Canada. Any leads on where to get any of these??

I am particularily interested in the color morphs.

For Corn: Candy Cane
Miami Phase
Sunglow
Crimson or Lavendar

For BP's:
Piebald or Blue Ball
Killer Bee or Killer Clown
Dreamsicle or Caramel Albino

Any help or ideas on where I can get any of these particular color morphs would be greatly appreciated!!!:crazy2:

Do you realize for your last posts I have been the first one to respond ;)

Anyways I would look for reptile expos in your area. They are a WONDERFUL place to meet up with various breeders and such. If you can't find what you are looking for there the people that are there might be able to help you find what you are looking for.

Yes, I have noticed that you've been very informative, thank you!! I'll look up to see if something is coming to my area, the last one I saw here for "western Canada" was in AB, some distance from me!!

What's a 'blue ball python'?

The other morphs killer clown and dreamsicle will run you a very high price.

hmmmm, I can't seem to find a way to attach a pic from my own comp files:sorry:

On one ball python site I found when searching for morphs, there was 2 pics of these beautiful, actual blue pythons. One said "incredibly rare morph" and the other said "new color morph" I don't know if it's for real or not, but it sure looks pretty:yes:

What is the ballpark for "incredibly expensive" when we are talking snake purchase price? (hatchling or very young)

What (if you know) would the ballpark be on a young piebald BP, or maybe a color morphed Corn??

This is NOT a ball python.

Morphs can go from $50 to thousands depending on what it is.

Truthfully, as horrible as it sounds, cut your teeth on a less expensive snake before you jump into morphs. Some of those morph prices are astronomical; such as that panda pied floating around.

Perhaps it is just the aging father in me giving this advice, but I really advise going with a corn or a cali just to make sure this is a hobby you want to stick with. Especially when you consider such an investment of time and money that you are talking about. Let's face it, the morphs you are mentioning are serious collector cash fodder.

My daughter was on board with me when it came to keeping my snakes right up until the first fist sized hot pile of snake crap that was waiting for her in the morning.

lol!! We have had reptiles (both hubby and I) in our separate pasts and one 6' iguana together (ever seen the poop pile from one of them??)

We are very sure we want a snake, it is between the BP and the corn. We also understand that this is a 25-30 yr commitment.

We have found some of the piebald BP's for about $400 and up, this is for young (but not baby) snakes, mostly males. I am waiting for response on price of hatchlings to see.

I'm not interested in the panda pied, I actually like the "normal" pied, I think they are far more spectacular than the panda's.

400 is generally a good price for a pied, if I'm not mistaken.

I am always surprised how much those BP morphs cost! Its one of the only reasons why we haven't gotten one yet. When we do decide we can afford another reptile of any kind we usually have a $100 budget.

Then balls out go for a beauty and best of luck. Out of the BP group myself I like orange looking balls and the plain old original ball pythons.

Corns are a bit skinny and overly hyper for me so regardless of color I cannot muster up the desire to jump that fence yet.

And please don't mistake my tone for being crotchety or condescending, I really was trying to be helpful =)

Whenever you see pictures like that, look closely at the fingers of the hand the snake is held in...There is a bluish tint on the hand.
Really bad photo-editing. ;)
