How do you tame these guys down?! mine is still very skiddish and does not liked to be touched... just wondering if there are some tricks!
Some are more tolerable to humans then others. Reptiles are very different then cats, or dogs. Your bearded dragon will never fully tame, just move slowly and make sure his temps/diet is spot on.

My old man KyJinn didn't like to be held until he was nearly 2 years old. Before that I would have to basically get him by the tail and wait for him to calm down (which took some time) before trying to pick him up. To this day I still will grab his tail first to let him know what I intend to do and he gets the idea. If I am not grabbing his tail and touching him he usually hisses a bit.

I see. Once I pick him up he's fine... ill rub the top of his head and he will calm down.. I know its not going to be like a dog, but I just was wondering that u all do / did to calm them down.

When I was growing up we had one. I used to sit next to its cage with the door open only enough to get my hand in. I would then watch tv with my hand in its cage. After a while he would come over and sit near me.Then I could feed him and so on. After a while he was ok with being touched and then held. It took months to do this and he never really liked it just tolerated it well.

Most usually calm down with age. How old is your dragon?

There are a few things you can try to get him used to you, if you have an old shirt you can try leaving it in his tank to get him used to your smell and the other thing I find really works is around bed time when lights go out take him out and sit with him, they are to sleepy to run away and this way they get to realize you wont hurt them etc etc
My Thil is extremely laid back and totally mommy's girl, loves being out but really only around me. I have her outside often in the summer and I've never needed a leash or harness, she has never hissed, bearded or bit me and never tried.

thakns for the replies.. i tried the t shirt thing with my pastel... it did seem to work a lil.
the cage is upstairs in our "closet" ... spare room lol...
i will try the night thing and see what that does.. its not that he is being mean or anything, just dont want to be touched..
he is LESS than a year old, not sure of exact age though.

Yeah at being less than a year old our KyJinn just wanted to ZOOM!! everywhere. Didn't have time to sit still and be handled. Around 3 years old did he finally stop wanting to zoom everywhere and take the time to "smell the roses". I think he found out we would take him to more interesting places if he relaxed. These days we only really take him out if we are going somewhere he can go...and to me he seems always ready to go as soon as we touch his tail to let him know.
