hi all.
im getting 3 madras forest scorpions and a chiolean rose tarantula on wednesday and i cant wait, just need to check a few things first though.

scorpions:

im using this tub to house them in:
Really Useful Box 64 Litre by Viking (http://www.viking-direct.co.uk/a/pb/Storage-Boxes/Plastic-Storage-Boxes/Really-Useful-Box-64-Litre/id=64LC/)
that should be suitable for 3 i believe

soil of some sort, probably eco earth

thermometer

some cork hides

thats all i need for scorpions isnt it.

tarantula:

this is what im gunna house it in:
Really Useful Box 35 Litre Clear 310H X 485W X 385Dmm by Viking (http://www.viking-direct.co.uk/a/pb/Storage-Boxes/Plastic-Storage-Boxes/Really-Useful-Box-35-Litre-Clear-310H-X-485W-X-385Dmm/id=EURO-C/)
that should be ok shouldnt it

and the rest is the same as the scorps.

please can you correct me if im wrong with this.
thanks

Grats, I'll let someone else give you advice though!

Emperor scorpions are fairly easy to care for. I kept mine in a 10-gallon aquarium with 2 inches of substrate (1 part eco-earth plus 1 part calcium sand). Keep him fairly warm, but they don't need a real basking spot. I used a UTH set to 85F. That gave a temp of about 82 on the ground and ambient air of 80 or so. I keep my flat rock scorpions and tarantulas in my snake room now, with temps cycling from 78-85. I mist one to two times a day. Give cork bark hides, moss piles, and such for hiding and burrowing.

im going for a pink toe tarantula rather than the chilean rose as i prefer the intergate webs that the pink toe makes, will make it a more interesting spider to own

If you asked me id say you go with a pink toe as well. I think you would enjoy having it more then the rose hair.
