My husband bought me my first Boa today.......I fell in love with a little columbian rainbow a friend of ours has...he just opened a new shop in town. He has the best little personality, I've been going and visiting him for about a week and hubby knew I really like him. Brought him home and got him all set up about 2 hours ago. He is a couple months old. Very alert and eating well. I just love this little snake. The brazilian he had up there was also nice and very very pretty and vibrant, but something about the little columbian just got me!!! Pics soon to come!!!! Name is Morpheus

Pics soon to come!! Fed him last night and it was fantastic....he is lightening fast!

With your next snake you should hold off on the feeding until he is settled in, the last thing you want is a regurgitation. I'm not a fan of rainbows, but to each his own. What are the temps and humidity you keep him at?

Morpheus is settling in nicely.....he is in a glass tank at the moment till he gets a little bigger and then I'm looking at some plastic tanks that will hold humidity in better....been looking at showcase cages, vision cages, animal plastics, boaphile, boamaster, repti-racks....etc. Right now the temps in his glass tank are holding steady at between 80 and 85 degrees during the day and between 75 and 80 at night. humidity is staying between 70 and 80 percent. He has a hide and about two inches thick on one side of the cage I have a layer of cypress mulch and that exo terra reptile soil, he loves to burrow in that stuff. I also have a plastice container with holes in the top over some wet moss to help with the humidity and a water bowl large enough to him to get in if we wants. He usually just puts half his body in it anyway though, lol. We also mist the cage and towel on top with water 2 or 3 times a day. He seems alert and content. I went ahead and fed him that fuzzy Thursday night, just something small and he did fine and has kept it down. I will feed him another fuzzy next week then move to hoppers, fuzzies are really small for him.

Out of curiosity jay0133.....why aren't you a fan of rainbows??

I'm not sure, looks mainly and there color/pattern.
You should invest in a repti fogger, it beats misting 3x a day.

I'll have to look at the repti-fogger thanks. Keeping the humidy in his tank hasn't been quite as difficult as I read it would be, but living in southeast texas probably helps.....hot and humid most of the time...
