As long as there are no sharp edges, it will be fine.

Google your area, and bamboo and you can probably buy it locally or have it shipped.

The question was "may I use the bamboo I already have" ;)

Just don't expect a BP to do much climbing. ;)
They like it down low on and under the ground.
My bp climbs all the time. He is mostly nocturnal and climbs most nights. He loves to hang out in his hammock.

Make sure you disinfect it first. Baking it in the oven for a while will do the job.

ya my ball python climbs all the time too! I built a shelf for him near the top of his enclosure close to the heat lamp.. he uses it all the time. Took awhile
for him to start using the rope ladder my girlfriend made for him though..
I suppose each ball is a little different, but mine have always been such inquisitive snakes that I think they probably will explore the entire enclosure. I ended up building a 6'x6'x6' when I was breeding them and they cruised all over every surface I gave them; high or low. Balls are definitely one of my favourites!

Neither of my ball pythons could care less about the height aspect of their cage. They never climb, and I've never even seen them try to climb out of their enclosure or anything like that. I got the lazy kind :p :p :p

You and me both. Only time Sasha moves is when I pick her up...
Mine is scaling the walls as we speak! I just fed her yesterday too, so not sure what she is looking for

Mine has a few low branches he can climb on. He seems to like it up off the ground but he is a sped and falls A LOT so I only let him get 2-3" off the bottom of his viv.
