I didnt realize people were interested in invertebrates on this website, as i have quite a collection. In the case i figured id post a picture or two of my "hand-able" specimens... 3 Rose Hairs.. I also keep a P. Regalis and a Green Bottle Blue Tarantula's. Very easy upkeep. I can post pictures of both of these if anyone is interested but there on the "bite first ask questions later" status...LOL Rose Hairs are great "beginner" species for anyone looking to venture into the hobby. Very rarely do they bite.

Also figured id throw in another picture of my Eyelash Viper.. unrelated to the topic LOL

Spiders are great to watch when they're busy, but handling them.... not so much. ;)

hahah there not "busy" to often.. These guys are not bad to handle they dont move much and are easy to read, they wont bite for just any reason. The other two if there going to bite it will be the second you put your hand near them, then they calm down. Ive been bit a few times its like 3 or 4 hornets stinging you in the same place, kinda hurts hahah. I hope to have 200+ Spiderlings here soon. Hard to find a home for so many...

Nice Emperor, Its awesome for manageable, handle-able those guys are. We have a rose hair as well. Don't have any scorpions at the moment, try to keep the piece.

I said id post pictures of my other spiders. Here's two of my favorites:

P. regalis or Indian Ornamental Tree Spider (Tarantula)
- The most venomous species of Tarantula

Here is my Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens or Green Bottle Blue Tarantula

They are both very young, the P. regalis can reach 7-9" and the Green Bottle Blue is still a spiderling his color hasn't developed all the way yet.

And do you handle them too? How do you clean their cages, I don't assume you can use hooks?

The little blue one ive handled before, he shoots eradicating hairs on me though, just cause hes young and scared. It just itches for alittle bit then goes away... Unless it gets in your eye's then its surgery lol. The P. regalis i can honestly say i am scared to handle hahah. They are so fast, but they are not aggressive they prefer flight over fight any day. But there bites have been known to cause full body muscle cramps for over 2 weeks and complete and total pain and agony... not fatal but not fun at all... Ive never handled her and i may never...

Oh, I didn't know he shoots hair. How does he do that? And I am surprised to hear you say the "s" word. hahaha

Get haired in the face, or bitten by anything with a decent venom and say you aren't :P
They scratch their backsides and flick hairs at you, that cause crazy pain :P
(one of the only reasons I'm hesitant when it comes to getting a Theraphosa Blondi :P )

Yea its hard to choose either Old world or New world. Because Old world have much more potent venom and New world will flick hairs. (not all but some) If you get bit by the P. Regalis you need to take a trip to the hospital.. Muscle relaxers are a must.

I got haired in the face/mouth by a T. Blondi, was at the point where if my friend punched me in the face and knocked me out, I'da thanked him when I came to.

Blondi? If so I would be interested in a male. Gota clear it with the family but I've been heading in that direction for a while. If I get haired in the face again though I'm gona kick a baby.

Whats the import/inspection fee for slings? Its like 330$ for herps =/
Although I could always attempt to smuggle em, lol.

I have no clue..

That could work, there just little spiders.

I would def want a female though, males are annoying once they get breeding size and just walk around forever.
The only other downside to T. Blondi is the fact that they can have really bad molts.

nice insects! Its crazy how fast those poecies are lol I didnt believe all the hype, first day i got my P fasciata, i open the lid real calm and slow to place it and the container into the cage i had prepaired, well with in a fraction of a second, the sling runs up the wall of the container over the edge and dives off and like slow motion falls to the ground and makes a run for it, but i turned the container in my hand over and got him luckily, now over the course if 6 months or so its gone from 1/2 inch to about 6" or so and its real calm, took it out a few weeks back to clean the cage, and it was real chill, i touched it on the bum to get it moving in the directions i wanted and it slowly walked around, i didnt let it touch my bare skin becuase no one was home incase i had an unexpected bad reaction or somthing lol keep those pics coming of the regalis, Ps are my all time fav!

I always wanted a female, I mixed up my words though. Male T blondi are stupid, once they get to breeding age they walk around till they die.

i think thats what happened to an older T bloni i had like 12 years ago, everything was great for a few years, then he stopped eatting and paced the cage all the time, now that i think about it, and eventually his bum got real small and he died, i bet he was a male of age, i never could figure out why he died. good to know :P

I had a huge Black Widow crawl up behind my stove. Needless to say it wasn't something I wanted as a pet. That thing was huge, about 2.5 inches long. But what has me stumped is that it came out in the middle of the day while there was activity going on. That is against everything that I've read about it.

I use to keep these as pets when i was in elementary school. Really what started my love for all things venomous. Such elegance, but at the same time can send shivers down your spine..
