Every time I try to start repling to a topic, I use the quick reply thing, right? anyway, after I start typing for 30 seconds or so, the browser refreshes itself, leaving my post deleted, and it doesn't show up! i have tried to reply to the piercing thread, the "Anyone play an instrument" thread, and a lizard forum thread (can't remember which) and the "what spider is it" invertebrae post... all tonight, and everytime I do it, the browser refreshes itself, making my post useless, since it doesn't show up...
Anyone know what the he77 is going on? i am sure I am not hitting refresh or anything, so is it my browser, the site, my friend Larry the Leprechaun... WHAT IS IT AND HOW CAN I STOP IT!?!?
I can post fine, but not use the quick reply thing, haven't tried the not quick reply...
my ramblings...

Then dont use the quick reply.
Look to the right of the quick reply box there are 2 options "new thread" and "post reply". (in blue)
It is better if you want to use smileys too.

Yeah the quick reply is for quick replies! LOL Its better to use the post reply icon for longer replies. What happens is if the quick reply is left open under all of the threads when people are browsing and not refreshing, it will send to many queries to the sql database and cause huge lag / performance errors. So use the post reply for longer replies and the quick reply for short ones! :D
I don't find there's any problem with it refreshing while i type a quick reply, regardless of the time i spend (at work sometimes i get interupted and come back 1/2 an hour later). So it's probably something with your browser. My best guess is that it's some sort of spyware or adware causing your system to do this. You might want to go to www.lavasoft.de to get the program "ad-aware" it looks for programs that attach themselves to your browser and cause random popups and report back your surfing habits. Many of these spyware programs piggy back themselves on "free" programs such as download accelerator, the weather bug, any sharing program such as kazaa, grokster, etc.
If it's "free" it usually costs you in bandwidth and now that many isp's make you pay for your bandwidth it costs you in money too.
