So I know that calcium with D3 is toxic (at least for leopard geckos) and unfortunatly I didn't know this when I bought my little container of it. Now I am the type that doesn't like to waste stuff if I don't have to. So my question is this:
If I limit my gecko girls intake of the D3 calcium to say once a week and then remove the little dish afterwards would that still be toxic for them?

If I limit my intake of rat poison to once a week in a small amount, am I still poisoned?
Im not 100% on how the this affects leo's but it seems like a poor idea, why risk it?

I agree. Just knowing that it is toxic makes it an automatic no-no. Maybe you can return it in exchange for the right one.

Nah I have basically had it since I got them several months ago. Only just today did I think to look at the canister today and found out it has D3 in it. One of my girls hardly touches it but the other one seems almost...addicted to the stuff. Which is another reason why I was going to limit it in the first place.
Also dogs can eat small amount of chocolate without it hurting them in any way I thought that perhaps D3 might be like that to my leopard girls. Couldn't find anything on it in the internet, nothing reliable at least, so I thought here other people that have had leopards would know if it is toxic if eaten ALL the time or limited would be okay.

Why am I picturing your leo with a razor blade and a mirror, dollar bill rolled and ready ;)

OMG I haven't done one that epic but I have done something similar to that very thing with snails in my g-father's garden. Oh and mine never had a way out. Actually watched snails commit suicide (so to speak) when they stupidly crawled over the salt. It really is an odd thing that happens to them.
