Doesn't matter what the word is, i don't practice perfect grammar on sssnakess.com... Im not being graded on it, or at least thought i wasn't... The point is once a month for Colubrids is TOO long...

I feed my corn and bp every 7 days right now. Once my BP is up to 500grams I will switch to every 10-14 but that's it. I think you should be feeding them more often. If you feel they are fatties I would say smaller meals but feed them more than once a month. I don't know a ton so please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but IMO your not feeding often enough.

Yes.. I get the question.. but WHY are you having to feed once a month? Of course once a month is too long lol.

I fed my corns every week without fail and though I don't know if they were overweight they never missed a meal.
Also if you are having trouble getting rats and such from your pet store why not look for a place to buy from a local breeder in bulk? Often times it is much much cheaper and their sizes might be a little more reliable. I met my guy from an expo I went to. Bought several months worth of food all at once. Cheap, healthy, and nice.

IMO: If they only get rats in once a month... you can store frozen or take care of live. Thats no reason to not feed more often.

We only BUY prey items monthly, doesnt stop us feeding every 14 days, not quite sure what your point is?
Could you imagine, a corn on jumbos, the thought of the bulge make my chuckle.

I also buy every three months and i feed weekly - bi weekly. I think they only have limited quantities though.

I buy several months at a time via local expos where my guy sells. I buy freshly frozen pinks but they got tons of rats and mice of all sizes. Think my pinks are like 25 cents apiece? I live in Texas...MUCH MUCH hotter than Florida. Not only that but the nearest non-big pet store is almost an hour away. Still hasn't stopped me finding food.
And if you can find already frozen food then freeze it yourself! There are plenty here that can give you information on how to humanely and safely freeze. And once you put the frozen in your freezer just make sure they are in heavy duty freezer bags.
Just depends on what you are willing to do and how much research you take the time to do.

There are tons of online breeders that ship, usually at 50 to 25 pieces at a time, directly to your house and it will save you money in the long run. You can separate them into individual bags and then put them in a bigger freezer bag and then inside a plastic bag if you don't like the look of it. That's what I'll be doing as soon as I get my Python on f/t. Done it before with my corns.
Rodent Pro. I was lucky, Mykee directed me to a great breeder who ships to me.
Told you they where big ......

Look about perfect size to me? Have you tried it with f/t tho? Dont know many crons that wont take f/t and that removes any risk of injury to your snake.

How long did you wait before giving in and giving live? I know some are stubborn and you need to wait them out a while. As long as your temps and everything are good and there is no weight loss make them wait. Don't feed live If you don't have to. Also,if eating f/t you can buy bulk and make it easier on yourself.

I think it probably didn't take f/t because, if my memory serves me well, his corn is WC.
