I took Sage out today since it's been 5 days since I got him. He's settled in amazingly, I'm glad I got a cornsnake. :) I rearranged his setup to make room for a pvc pipe hide that he adores. He's been chilling out in it since I put it in.

I love their little faces!!!
You should leave him alone for a few weeks, as this is probably stressful for him.

To me he doesn't seem very stressed at all. In fact I think he likes it. I was just letting him roam around while I was taking pictures.

A few weeks is a little overkill for a corn dont you think? :P

Not to mention everyone loves pics here. But I'll let him chill out for a few days
Not really, especially so young. What if it had mites, now they are on the bed. Don't strain yourself either we all have done this.

If anyone's that worried about stress, go the hands off method...
Stress is an important factor, most people don't take into consideration.

Ever corn snake will get stress, i would keep it in its cage and not hold it for a week i know its hard but it will let the snake get settle in its new cage.

Yes a week is appropriate, but a few is a bit much. Seriously tho, you really think he can avoid messing with his first snake for weeks on end? :P lets not kid ourselves here :3

Okaaaaay, fineeeeee. :p I'll wait until he's eaten his first meal and has digested it. does that sound good? I was going make Thursdays feeding days (assuming he does take it with no problems) and then 2 to 4 days to let him digest it. That's about a week.

But you guys know that I let him settle in for 6 days before taking these pictures right?

That's one cute little snake. I love the colors and design. Very cool choice. And as long as he is not squirming around and trying to escape from you then maybe he is OK with you handling him and checking out his environment. Just make sure he gets lots of uninterrupted time in his habitat so that he knows this place is safe.

You did fine. Just remember that this forum has a mix of people starting with the ones who don't believe in handling snakes at all to only sometimes to frequently socializing. And a lot of them are expert snake owners and their snakes are doing very well regardless how they are being handled. Try to read your snake and follow the signs and you will be fine and so will your snake.

I misread and thought you just got him 1 - 2 week should be quarantine, regardless where you purchased the little guy. How do you like owning him?
