yh i would love him to have orange marking on a yellow background, that would look absolutely awesome

yh, i had to sort something out with the substrate, so i put paper towel ontop of the beech chips as he was dragging them into his water, so while i done that, i quickly got him outside for clearer pics, he wont be touched for a week now.

also, i just got him to strike and constrict a rat for the first time in his life, which i feel very proud about.

as i was still learning about the substrate for him, i knew that he would be moved acouple of times this week anyway, but now its all sorted, he can and will be left alone to settle in.

when i get a new snake i dont touch them until i see they are active in their cages, some of my snakes i have held the day after getting them, some i didnt see them come out of hiding for a week or longer and waited as such, cant say its the right way,but this i my rule of thumb :) and man does he looks good!!

thanks, normally i wait for 4-5 days before handling a newbie as i dont really need to keep altering the substrate, as my other snakes aint so prone to problems in such and extent to make me worry for the 5 days it takes me to handle them but becoz this is a burmese python with a high risk of impaction and problems with there heat pits, then its more of a worry about getting it right, but at least i didnt feed him the day i had him (my usual routine with new snakes to help them adjust) and then handle him to change substrates, i waited to make sure everything was right first.
