I just bought some large, frozen dory fillets from the supermarket, there was some cod there but silly me it slipped my mind to get it instead because I know for a fact it is safe! So does anyone know if dory contains thiaminase or any other harmful chemicals? The few safe/unsafe fish lists I've found don't include dory on either side.

Not that I can find online.

I guess this means Dory is fine then? Cos I can't find anything at all, and I have a LOT of it so I may as well use it! Next time I'll get cod or salmon because those are confirmed to be safe. If anyone else can find any information about this it would be appreciated! :D

Salmon, Trout and Tilapia are all on the list of good foods.

I feed chopped up trout to baby Thamnophis and Nerodia. (garters and water snakes)

All I found was this and it didn't seem very positive so I'd be careful feeding it to your snake. Philosophy Recycled: Pangas fish (Dory Fish) (http://philosophyrecycled.blogspot.com/2008/10/pangas-fish-dory-fish.html)

Yikes! That does look bad, and it mentions the sutchi which is the type of fish that was written on the packet! Thanks! I'll throw it out and get the other fish when I get some money! Bought it cos I was broke ):

In this link (http://www.wetwebmedia.com/ca/volume_6/volume_6_1/thiaminase.htm) it says that some tunas do contain thiaminase and so is not good for snakes!
