Our monitor was asleep in his den last night and we were watching Jurassic Park on TV. When the Velociraptors started "calling" each other on the film he dashed out of his den and climbed to the higest part of his viv and was very very inquisitive, tiltling his head from side to side etc
Anyone else had any experiences like this?

Was it a feeding response or territorial/inquisitive?

When I played those same exact sounds through a very powerful car stereo system while parked in the woods, the townspeople reacted in a similar way.

I used the computer to create a CD with 45 seconds of silence, one velociraptor call then about another 45 seconds silence.
Mix in the odd 2 minutes silence and one or two T-Rex growls.
People were talking about it for days, the "I don't know what was back there, but it was killing things and eating them"

Would suck if it had resulted in a man-hunt killing carnivores in the bush :(
Still sounds like a great idea though :P Assuming the locals aren't nuts.
