So lately one of my leopard girls, Bell, has been really chowing down on calcium. I leave a small bowl of the powdered calcium for reptiles in their tank at all times. Every night when they come out to get active the first thing Bell will do is go lick up a bunch of the calcium from the bowl. My other girl will occasionally eat it, maybe a couple of days a week...

Is there such a thing as to much calcium being eaten by leopards? Should I take it out and put the bowl in every few days instead of all the time?

i dont think there is such a thing as too much calcium for leo`s, some leo`s do need calcium more than others and compensate for it.

as long as shes still eating her normal food items, i dont really see a problem with how much calcium she takes in tbh

Make sure you're not using calcium with D3 added, as too much D3 is not good.
To much of anything is never good; so I would maybe start removing the dish somedays, or just dusting your insects with it. This is what I do - but I only do it when I think of it; not every single day. . . I'm not totally sure though - as I'm finding a lot of information that states too much is no good, and then a lot of information that states they cannot have to much as long as there is no added D3. I can't rememeber, are your geckos younger? Because I know younger geckos, or breeding females, will need more calcium.
That's all I've got. Hope it helps?

Thanks for finally answering guys ;)

Both of my girls are a year old, Bell being just slightly younger by a few months.

Just for an experiment I put a dish of calcium in with my leo and he hasn't touched it at all yet - but he gobbled down the dusted superworms.

My girls usually lick some up every night when they are first coming awake. They will go lap at the bowl for a few then move on. Nightly routine for them.
