So, its been 20+ days since I lost Kirana...
About an hour ago my dog walked up the stairs with Kirana dragging behind him, she had my dog by the tail and didn't want to let go...
I'm not sure if she was hungry or not, but DAMN that was one determined snake:P Tomorrow I'll attempt to feed her now that temperatures are back to normal.
AND.... WAIT FOR IT!!!
I CAN TURN ON THE AIR-CONDITIONING NOW!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTT TTTTTT

LOL To bad you couldn't get a picture of snake snacking on dog tail! But very very glad you found her.

My dogs tail was bleeding lol, had to make sure he wasn't hurt.
Is it fair that he joined the bite club before me?:P
I have yet to photograph a bite -.-

Was the dog yelping or anything? Or just walking around like an idiot?

Hes pretty mellow, my cat goes for "tail rides" all the time so hes kinda of immune to it. But when I see blood and I'm not the person feeling it, I don't know for sure the extent of the damage so I fix the problem ASAP.

Considering its a Dog, Id vote walking around like an idiot.
Dogs and Bearded Dragons... both do the dumbest stuff, its awesome to watch :)
Glad you found your run away mate, its always nice to have a happy ending.

Speaking of bearded dragons doing stupid things...KyJinn lately when we feed him crickets as we dump the bag into the tank via the top he will literally try to catch the crickets literally out of mid air as they fall into the tank. Then when they are all in the tank (and he has yet to catch one out of mid air) he will still look to the top of the tank as if waiting for more.
Sorry...don't mean to get off subject but couldn't resist telling.

Yeah lol... first time in years but I lost another one... The new snake i JUST got was sitting on my bed because i was cleaning the cage and i REALLY needed to go to the washroom so I closed the door and went.
A family member opened the door to get something without noticing and the snake escaped.
Checked all the usual places and layed some traps. Ill keep looking tomorrow but I'm exhausted right now, had a really long day.
I'm not worried overall but the vents were all open (air conditioning vents) because we were laying new wood floors. I'm hoping the snake had the smarts to stay out of cold aluminium tubes (I turned off the AC) and I'll undo the pipes tomorrow and check there.
Room is fixed.

She kept going into feed mode every time we walked down the hall, she even struck at the glass a few times when we were like 10ft away... So we decided to feed her lol, she nabbed it when 80% of it was still outside the terrarium lol.
Took pics but I need to leave for work so I'll upload them tonight.

Glad you found her! That's a lousy feeling when you realize one of your snakes is missing. And the good feeling of finding it is even better when you also can turn the A/C on.

Well, yesterday I fed Kirana a rat, today I fed her another. She was in the middle of swallowing it so I went for another rat to give my friends snake (babysitting) (Kiranas terrarium was open because they don't roam when swallowing) Anyway, I'm passing by Kiranas cage with the rat and shes done eating and strikes at my hand, I drop the rat and dodge it and she grabs the rat... Damn shes hungry lol....
I just put the top on her cage and locked it :P

I'm surprised the dog and cat didn't make a sound when they got bit or when they found the snake. Then again, it may have been at night when they are the most active.

The cat has been freaking out every night lol, she has a few bite marks on her so does the dog. The snake doesn't have a scratch on her :P
Her strike is about 3 feet lol.

Whoa... how big is your snake?
stephanbakir
06-26-11, 07:01 PM
Shes about 7.5 feet long.
When shes going to strike though, 60% of her body goes into the coil and at least half of that is elevated off the ground ready to be thrown at the target.

Tossed the plate in Kiranas viv, put 3 frozen rats on it and went to the washroom.. came back and all 3 were gone. I left the room for 2 minutes tops, and she has 3 lumps... Still looking for more lol.

She doesn't take large prey items, so it has to be multiple small ones. She ate 3 mediums.

Here we are... 3 days later. Since she last fed she was an absolute nightmare, really aggressive, feed mode the whole time (keep in mind I fed her 3 medium rats 3 days ago...)
Seeing as I plan to breed her shortly, a little extra weight won't hurt her, she took 3 more rats without flinching and came after me for more... Not planning on giving her any more... 6 in 3 days is plenty...
God I hope my friend brings his male by soon, every time you touch the rear half of her body, she lifts her cloaca a good inch off the ground.
