I've got the moodiest Rosy boa on the planet, I swear..
Recently, he shed and started to eat again after 3 months.
I went to take him out, he struck and bit me. Scared the crap outta me XD
Wasn't so bad, really. What I want to know is why would he do that, exactly?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I dont think there are many snake keepers that arent bitten at some point. You may not have washed the prey smell off properly, you could have startled it, he may have been a little p'd off.
Oh and just so you know it doesnt count as a bite unless we have pictures!! ;)

He bit you because he is a snake and it's part of his instinct. ;/ Any of the reasons Lanky listed could of been the trigger. Some snakes are just moody.
And yes- pictures are needed if your trying to join the bite club. :P

He was either pissed off or he hates my guts... My hands had just been washed and I approached him calmly, like I usually do. His next scheduled feeding is this Friday, so it had only been three or four days since he'd eaten the last time.
I mean, it makes sense. No one likes to be under the rule of another
LOLZ the bite was so microscopic it didn't even show up in the pictures XD

Our 8 rosies get pissy close to feed time and will bite. Also they would get nippy a few days before feeding day before we upped there food size. There is quite a difference between getting bit and they hold on or bite lightly and then let go realizing your not what they thought you were.

Now that makes sense. He was real quick about it. My reaction time compared to his was like a freakin' turtle. I feel sad, though, because now I get freaked when his head comes near me

I went through a phase like this after being tagged by my SD retic - but when you think about it logically the bites dont hurt it is just a bit of a shock.
Give it a bit of time and that nervousness will disappear again, neraly every bite we get as keepers is our fault in someway - hopefully you now know why he bit so you can avoid the same situation presenting itself again.
