so my bredle python has eatten 2 time and not gone yet, and it feeding time again, so thats been 6 weeks, but, she does not seem constipated, her "cloaca" does not look swollen like she was before, as she did get constipated a few months back but a good soak in the tub and she relieved herself. but she does not look swollen like that this time. so im not sure what do do, continue to take her out and soak her from time to time until she finaly goes, or maybe its time to take her to the vet? but its been over a month, their is somthing wrong, just some advise on what course of action at this point, as its worrying me and its not the first time its happend, hmm maybe i aswered my own questions and i might call a vet in the next couple days if she still dont go.

Personally I'd give her a daily bath for the next few days and if you don't see positive results consult a vet. Could she have ingested substrate?

Ah sweet, just gave her a bath and she finnaly went, what a shy of relief, for her and for me :) took me a few soaks, but this time i filled the tub with warmer water than normal,"not Hot by all means" and held her body under as best i could with out pissing her off, and ran my hand down her under belly down to the tip of her tail, figured maybe this would stimulate some movement in her bowels, after about 15 min she calmed right down and finaly started going, first couple peices were white and hard ball shaped, followed by what looked like regular soft brown poop. :) I'm very happy now!

it's not urine, it's urates. i believe it's all the stuff that the snake can't get nutrients from, bone fragments etc.

What is it eating? I find my guys that eat rats poop more often than those eating mice (admittedly differing breeds so not a scientific experiment here!!). My yearling corns have just moved from hairless to hairy mices and both produced what i would consider a "proper" poo for the first time, up to now its has been 99% urates and basically nothing else.

i feed all my snakes rats, her poop or normally brown logs, and as for urine im not sure, their paper is just wet so i change it, but both time she got constipated it started out hard white balls, last time the ball were really hard, it made a sound when i dropped it into the toilet, this time they were softer but still not regular if that makes sence, at my house i have my snakes and my folks have corns and ball pythons, all eatting rats and their fecal is all the same. the hard white im thinking is what happend when it sits and rotts maybe? getting whiter and harder as it sits or somthing. i could be so wrong tho lol

hello mate
i wouldn't worry too much about it
sometimes my carpets won't poo for 6 to 7 weeks then let 3 go all in the one week
other times they will poo every week sometimes twice then not poo for a few weeks
if theres no swelling indicating constipation then imo all is good
carpets ive found to be irregular with no apparent poo cycle
hatchlings on rat pups i've found hardly poo imo because they absorb most of the pup and theres very little waste.even when the do poo its not a lot and usually soft and at times watery

if its defo poop your talking about and not eurates then theres a way to add a bit moisture to your snakes poop
you have to inject the prey item with some mineral oil or milk of magnesia
the reccomended dose is 1ml per kilo of body wieght
this is sometimes reffered to as rat lax (laxitive)
when the rats digests the oil or milk of magnesia is released and trust me you'll have a nice mess to clean up mate
most times using this method once gets everything back regular again
cheers shaun
