We use repti bark and it often ends up in the water - has had no ill effect on our guys so far.

The way snakes drink is different fron a lizard or other animals. They kind of just put the end of their snout into the water and suck...having their mouths barely open in the process. The mulch you are using has to be really really small to get sucked up into their mouth. I think you will be okay.

Here is a good side view picture that shows the snake barely opens its mouth

Awwww cute :) ok well that has eased my worries :) but all this being constructive stuff has made me think... I think I am gonna make a small "rack" and by rack I mean three rubbermaids side by side with one piece of 4'x11" flexwatt. This will make maintaining temps easier and I need to move up my BP enclosure anyways and it will free up one of my tanks for a new pet :D ( I know just excuses :P)

As has been said, a little mulch in the water is no big deal, however, if you don't want it floating in there, why not reach in and take it out? lol

Oh i have lol she likes to put it right back in while burrowing :P
soo heres a pic of what I am thinking of doing,
The tank in the top left will be used for lizards of some sort I am thinking 1-2 leos

The rubbermaid will soon be accompanied by 2 more side my side and I will run 4' of 11" flexwatt in the back to heat them all and they will be running of a Reptitemp thermostat.

Also I am looking at my dresser and am juggling in my head changing that to a rack system after I start breeding Blood Pythons...

What are your thoughts on this? I am gonna ask around and find out what kind of wood that dresser is just to make sure if I cant use it I will make a rack at a later time... Personally I think this is really space efficient and underneath the desk I am thinking an incubator if it comes to it.
