i changed Oracle's bedding from aspen that the other owner had to my reptibark/coconut shred mixture and it's good to see she still likes to dig.

Ha ha I didn't see the head so much as the little part of the body that was showing. Reminds me of another pic I have seen around the net.

LOL Yeah I wish it took me that long...I spent close to 15 min the first time I saw it. Now the cat is about the ONLY thing I see. Gotta love camoflauge.
BTW what kind of boa is Oracle? I don't think I remember seeing a pic of him...

Oracle is a female dumerils boa. she will be Nigma's mate eventually.

Do you know any good sites that give information on Dums? You talk about yours so much it makes me wonder about them.

dums are cool as hell
My daughter found the cat in 2 seconds. 6 year old brains sometimes work in strange ways. Lol

I love Dums. I worked in a snakeshow where we use a 7-foot dum and it's the tamest snake ever. In fact, it has a complete lack of feeding response, needs to be tube fed. Its hilarious and awesome to see these 5 and 6 year old kids handling a snake twice as tall and about as heavy as them. But jabba (the snakes name) just chills out on shoulders. He has no fear and no aggression. One of the most amazing snakes i know.

yea, they really are quite docile. my girl is a bit more fidgity and spastic then my big guy though lol. it's funny, the little girl has been digging like that a Lot the last few days in the tank. i keep seeing her head poking up.

From what I've read (not a lot, mind) that's their hunting mode...apparently they tend to lie in wait with just the head exposed until a prey item happens along, then they nab it. Makes for a nifty picture whether or not that's the case :)

i've heard that also but they must just like to hide like that because i just fed her a few days ago. or maybe she's one of those snakes that are always hungry lol.
