Yeah lol... first time in years but I lost another one... The new snake i JUST got was sitting on my bed because i was cleaning the cage and i REALLY needed to go to the washroom so I closed the door and went.
A family member opened the door to get something without noticing and the snake escaped.
Checked all the usual places and layed some traps. Ill keep looking tomorrow but I'm exhausted right now, had a really long day.
I'm not worried overall but the vents were all open (air conditioning vents) because we were laying new wood floors. I'm hoping the snake had the smarts to stay out of cold aluminium tubes (I turned off the AC) and I'll undo the pipes tomorrow and check there.

Taiwan Beauty snake, It is a fantastic climber, and can get into really small spaces, its about 7.5 feet long but for some reason it only puts its head in the hides, always sleeps with its head under the substrate for some reason lol.

Dang, that stinks!
Lay down a heating pad, plug it in, put a frozen mouse on top of it, and spread flour all around. The snake will be drawn to the warmth and food, and then when it leaves it'll leave a trial in the flour that will give you somewhat of a general direction of where it went.
It'll most likely be hiding somewhere dark and warm if it eats to help it digest.

I have heard of snakes being found in computer towers, a subwoofer speaker and the back of a chair!
Hope he turns up. :(

Cat keeps going nuts in my kitchen, but every time I head towards it she runs away downstairs so I don't know what's aggravating her. Checked inside everything behind the stove and dishwasher took apart the cupboards and looked inside the heating vents... Nothing...
Even sat in the kitchen reading a book for 20 mins and nothing...
Did you check under your stove?

if i were you and my cat were acting weird in the kitchen, i wound stealthily watch the cat to see where its checking out, then i'd tear apart that part of the kitchen lol.
its niiiice and toasty under a fridge also, that's worth checking.

We have this new fridge thats pretty well sealed, regarding the stove its empty, nothing under or behind it either.
The cat is going nuts around the dishwasher, i ripped it out of the wall and took it more or less apart and there is nothing in there.
I'm confused and tired and I'm going to bed:P
I really hope that your snake turns up :( must be so stressful

I know the snake is safe as long as it remains in my house, so I'm not overly worried. Just sucks to loose something I'm responsible for.

Best of luck once again. Good to hear you aren't worrying yourself silly over it.

How about putting a heat mat in the middle of the floor with a hide on it and then putting the aircon on low? Put a f/t prey item in the hide as well....?

I live in a pretty large house, tried the heat mat and lowering house temps, and mouse in a divided snake trap. The problem is I fed 2 rats the day it got loose, but its been over a week so it should be hungry by now.

Nice idea !

Stephan, I'm so sorry u haven't found her yet!:( Sorry this is coming so late, I only just noticed this Thread:sorry:
It sounds like you are bound to find her eventually though, with that detective cat on the case and evidence to prove she's still kickin (well, biting, I should say:p) I hope you find her very soon - good luck!

i am reluctant to suggest this for fear of you dismantling your fridge stephan but.....
there was a guy on a uk forum the other week who could not get his ball python out from the inners of his fridge
there is a part of the fridge that gets hot
its a wierd looking thing that pumps the gas around to create the chill
the ball was firmly wrapped around it but the part was that enclosed he could barely touch the snake with a chopstick he said
i really hope you find it mate
happy hunting
cheers shaun
