Is there a texan here who knows what the laws are on keeping hots ive looked and looked yet havent found much other than needing a permit on non native hots

Not sure if the US works the same way, but in Canada even when there is a provincial law, the municipal law overrides it. If this is the case for the states you might want to look at municipal law first.

From what ive found thus far local coincides with state but i cant find out all of the laws for the state

LOL I am from Texas :)
I am pretty sure there are no laws about keeping hots. I mean you can keep tigers and bears with a permit. Pretty sure monkies are able to be kept without permit. Texas has some of the loosest animal keeping laws around. Both great and disturbing.

If you like I can give you the number to a shop that would know they have a few hots and permits for a lot of regulated species (burms, retics, anacondas, rattlers, etc)
