So, i currently have a Carept python and a Cali banana King. Now im getting the boa itch as i love collecting different species. What do you guys think is the prettiest looking/most rewarding boa to own? I like to handle my snakes, but understand they'll never like it only tolerate it. I don't over do it. But i'd prefer a generally mellower snake. What do you guys think?

Red tailed boas are really mellow and don't get overly big, Rainbow boas get a little smaller but aren't quite so mellow.
I'd stay away from tree boas.

I recommend a longicauda red tail. We have an anery one and he is the sweetest snake we have. Super inquisitive and not shy at all. I love the feeding response too.

Cuban boas are pretty cute too, hard as hell to find though. (they get 10ft+)

Im a fan of rainbow boa, really nice looking snakes. I havnt had any bad attitude off my female at all so far... Well apart from feeding times lol.

Not saying your wrong here Stephen but some redtail's can get a nice size......my biggest is 6 ft and as thick as a popcan.........and I've seen some huge females
So no not overly big, but big enough depending on how ya look at it:):) but yes they are great snakes and usually very docile

The OP's requirement was a mellow snake, and because he already had a carpet I'm assuming he has some experience with longer snakes.
Also because we only have responsible herp keepers on this forum *wink wink* I'd hope that he will do his research on whatever he chooses to get before making his final selection.

As mentioned research is a must but I can highly recommend hog island boas, rainbow boas and crawl cay boas althought the crawls dont get very big at all. My hog can be a bit hissy and viv defensive but is fine once out. My brb is as chilled out as they come and has never had a grumpy day and my hypo hogs and crawl cay are all super calm.
Boas are awsome :)

Thanks everyone for the input. I really love the brazilian boas. They are amazing. And yes i will most definitely be doing more research (i say more because i have already started) before i make a purchase. I just figured who would know better than actual snake keepers such as yourselves!
