So my two new Leopard Gecko girls I am worried about. I haven't seen any black poo from them in about a week. PLENTY of white poo but no black poo. Been feeding them meal worms (the breeder said that is what they fed them) from a dish where the worms can't get out of and generally I *think* they have been vanishing. Checked the substrate the other day and found a few of the worms buried into it...thinking if I did a full tank check I would find more.

Tail fatness has gone down a bit I think, but hard to tell since they are obviously more active at night when we are asleep. One of them however I see on the cold side more than the hot side while another almost religiously uses the moist hide. Heat is in the 80's during the day as ambient temperature but the UTH creates a majority of the heat. They do have a small heat lamp that I use during the day and turn off at night.

Earlier today husband came in and showed me one of my girls is in full shed, and it seems to be going well enough. However this is the girl that has not used the moist hide but instead stays generally on the cold side of the tank. I soaked her today and put her back. A few moments ago I went and checked and it seems there is some shed skin about the tank. The other girl is looking a bit dull and I think she might shed soon as well.

But still a week with no black poo but plenty of the white. I know I posted a lot of information of their habits above...hope that helps. How often do leopards black poo compared to their white poo?

Are you feeding just mealworms?

Yes just mealworms. The breeders I got them from said that was the only thing they fed theirs. The worms generally can't get out of the dish and since a few managed somehow I changed to a taller lipped dish that also can't be tipped by gecko feet.

Moving this to the top...don't want it getting "lost" without getting help.

just meal worms are bad i hear. i dont own any geckos. but they need variety in their diet. plus i heard meal worms are high in fat.
i could be mega wrong here so verify my intel first before acting on it.

Wax worms are super fatty, as far as I'm aware meal worms are alright? I feed my guy a variety though.. Mostly super worms, with something else here and there. I do find worms under decorations every once and a while, but if I toss them back in the dish they get eaten.
Hope everything goes alright, I'm no expert so I don't have any great input, I'm sure someone will.
