hi all, my adult corn snake is constantly shedding, doing it every 3 - 4 weeks and now im getting worried, the vet has given him the all clear and has said that theres nothing wrong with him so now im at a loss.

has anyone got any ideas to why this could be happening at all.

i only feed him every 2 weeks as he hasnt long gone back to accepting food as he refused to eat for 2 months pretty much, and hes already over 6ft so i cant see why hes still growing at this rate

Mites? have you checked him for them, is he spending alot of time in his water bowl?

Has he got any scale/skin damage anywhere. If they have an injury they can shed more offen as the wound heals.

Is he really 6ft? How are you measuring him? Try holding him up so he hangs down full length? Easy way to tell if he is really 6ft then as you would have to hold him way above your head before his head was off the ground.

no mites what so ever and he rarely goes in his water bowl, no scale damage what so ever, im 5ft 10 or so and hes bigger than me, plus that snake measuring program i used as a back up.

You got any recent pics of him, clear body shots. I know you don't know his background but maybe he could be a hybrid or have some hybrid in him. Do you have any idea of his age?

Can you post the pic you used for the snake program?

not got a clue about his age but the vets guess was between 5 and 6 yrs old as for body shots, will have to get some after hes shed as his body is completely off colour and milky or dull (which ever way you wanna say it), plus hes being extremely aggressive at the moment aswell for some reason, to the point of, open his RUB and he strikes out for no reason what so ever.

Right, just looked at the previous owners thread on the other forum from when he first got her (he thought he was a she remember) and he says she is 4-5 years old and nearly 5ft.

That means he has grown over a foot since being with you.

Just post the pic you use for the measuring widget and I shall have a look :)
