today i decided to just grab my boy out, he done his usual hiss thing but as soon as i got hold of him and had him in hand, he settled right down and just relaxed on my palm.
im very happy of this much progress and even though i know he will never get as calm as the boa but at least hes on his way to making a much better family pet :)

Did he move about in your hands or just curl up? His head looks a little flattened in that pic so he was probably still very scared. It just takes time and patience and don't over do it at first.
I'm 8 weeks in with my boy now and he's great. Wont be long before your boy will be slithering around all over your hands and you can great pics like this..... ;)

Sorry, any excuse to show this cute little guy off!!
Oh and he will become very calm. Much calmer than a boa! Hoggies are really sociable little snakes and when your boas a huge grumpy monstor you will be glad you have this little guy :p

another update for ya, getting him out every night so far and its getting easier, we have an understanding with each other now, i dont try to handle him during the day and he stays soft without fuss for handling during the evening instead, hes a star during evening handling and he lets me know when he wants to go back in his viv by rattling which is good

Being slightly plump, bald and in a wheelchair part time i can totally relate to Andy!! We saw them do their live show and it was SOOO much funnier than the series - a number of prop errors occurred on the night we were there and they just blended them in to the funniness - made you realise they are genuinely funny and its not all just scripted.

They reminded me of a cruder more believable Monty Python. Being a person from across the pond we don't see nearly as much of the really good British humor as we would like (at least those of us that matter). All I have ever really seen is Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, and now Little Britain. Sometimes I think I was born on the wrong side of the world LOL
