What kind of wood? Cedar and pine = no no.

Yeah I wouldn't risk it. The wood shavings that are for rodent homes are not meant for snake homes.

Get some megazorb or Auboise. It's much cheaper and works great.

My turn.

Cedar is a huge no no.. the vapours will make your snake sick.

Pine bedding is kiln dried shredded building lumber, the oils have been driven out by extremely high temperatures.

The fact is that raw undried pine contains the same chemicals used to create turpentine, however kiln dried pine has had these harmful chemicals forced out by intense heat.

Turpentine (also called spirit of turpentine, oil of turpentine, and wood turpentine) is a fluid obtained by the distillation of resin obtained from trees, mainly pine trees. It is composed of terpenes, mainly the monoterpenes alpha-pinene and beta-pinene. It is sometimes known as turps.

When Ponderosa pine wood is heated, the distillates collected are nearly pure Heptane, bad stuff.

now you know. ;)
