I currently keep 2 snakes. I have a 6.5 foot snow bull snake, male. The second is a 7 foot northern pine snake. Both are awesome, and have a great time coming to see kids and do educational talks with me.

Yes, the pine is probably the larges I've encountered or heard about, I'd love to find if someone has one larger than mine..

Pine snakes are amazing, they are fast, but they play dead and hiss allot when you catch them in the wild.

She's a great snake, extremely cage aggressive, she will not hesitate to bite the hell out of you. Once she's out, she's extremely calm, and I've had many many small children hold her and play with her for hours and she does awesome.

IMO I don't know if that would be wise. You never know what it could have eaten. Plus from being road kill it could have oil or tar on it. Thing like that that could be deadly to your snake.

Hav e to agree, my reptiles dont eat anything that i cant trace back to a healthy breeding set up, you never kmow what "naturally found" prey may have died from.

It was a fresh hit, not worried about it, it's from an area that's pretty safe and most people around there don't use any sort of chemicals.

A lot of people are like this. I've been feeding all sorts of various things to my herps for years with no ill effects, if I see a fresh squirrel, no way am I going to let it sit on the side of the road and rot. Clean it off, freeze it 2 weeks to be clear of parasites and there we go!

I've only known one other person to do that with wild animals. His animals grew up on it and seemed fine. He also only got the prey items from what died on his property or that he trapped down in Texas on his property. I still wouldn't do it myself though.

Now that I know how to spot the parasites in minnows, I do net from my creek and feed them to my snakes.

Chomper feeds from my property, but just like I do with my dogs, I kick carcasses to the side and don't let my animals eat them.

Why is this millinix banned? Just for saying he picks up road kill? Not that I would do that or anything like it.

Ahh ok. He pmed me about being in the area and possibly knowing someone I know before the ban. To bad he couldn't be civil.
