i talked to someone MONTHS AGO who was trying to sell their female dumerils on CL. we had some back and forth and they ended up deciding they wanted some substantial money for her. he just emailed me back and said his GF is pregnant and they are just going to give her away for free. i asked them if she's going to come with a setup and everything and all her health history and such. if everything works out, i might have a mate for nigma :)

sweet B) he said he'd give me everything with her. she's in a glass tank and will eventually need another 4x2x2 like nigma but it'll be fine for now. gonna have to work everything out and go get her sometime soon.

i'll have to try and get some pictures from the guy. also he said she's eating mice still O.o
i'll have to switch her over to small rats. she is a lot smaller then nigma also, she's going to need some growing time before breeding happens.

also he said he would give me a wooden viv he has also that she will probably outgrow soon. so i'll probably take that if i can and use it for my BP so he doesn't have to be in a glass tank. (although i've seen ho hindering effects at all in my bp from it)

also his dum is still eating live. i'll have to switch her over like i did to my BP and nigma.

Sounds like you may have your work cut out for you. Hopefully she's not too set in her ways and switches over easily. Good luck.

nigma didn't even care 1 bit lol. in fact, he did it himself. he stopped eating and refused live rats then started being hungry and taking f/t months later lol.

here's a few pictures that the guy sent me of the dum girl, she doesn't look as pretty as nigma ;)

also the pics didnt work right for photobucket so i had to take screenshots of them with my comp and resave them lol, so don't mind that.

Personally I wouldn't touch free snakes

i got nigma for free and he's been nothing but a blessing. never had any health issues, never hissed, never bit. he's like a puppy.

(well, i've heard him hiss once or twice but he's never been mean. he hissed once because i was cleaning his cage and i kept pulling him out of hiding spots and he CLEARLY wanted to hide so he gave me a hiss. the 2nd hiss was at a live rat when he didn't want to eat it)

That's only temperament. Mites, parasites, disease.

as i said nigma has never had any extra health issues. i always look for external things like mites and ask about health history before i take an animal. i was told she's healthy and eating and never had an issue.

Free snakes are great! But yes I agree, keep the new one quarantined in a different room and make sure you wash up after dealing with it before your trusted animals and some people even change clothes. IBD lurks! not trying to fear monger.

yep, quarantine is always a must for a new snake.

I would never turn down a free snake with full enclosure!! But definitely a good three if not six months of quarantine before and introductions! Looking forward to more pics!
