Are you wild about reptiles? Do you have a big collection of snakes or lizards? Are they your hobby and not your business?

Hi,

I’m a Producer at a UK-based TV production company called Mentorn Media, and I've joined Ssnakess because I’m doing some research and development for a series about captive breeders and reptile collectors in the United States.

I am looking to speak with collectors who have a large number of reptiles - anything above 10 - particularly snakes. I’m aware that there can be a fine line between a collector and a breeder, and at this stage, I’d ideally like to talk to those who do not breed animals as a business. If you breed within your collection as a hobby and keep most of your snakes in vivs, I'd still be keen to find out about them.

If you are happy to speak with me about your collection - what you have and your thoughts and experiences of keeping reptiles - I'd love to hear from you. Please could you let me know the best number to contact you on, which State you're in, and a good time to call. I understand and appreciate that some people may have reservations about media involvement, so of course, I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have about the project.

Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you,
Sophie

Hehe Chomper's gonna get his own reality show. You know he always did have the look of a TV host.

I would really like to know what their up to in terms of Reptile interviews, Would you mind posting a rough interview on here once your done?

Maybe, maybe not.

A member of this forum was involved in a special on animal planet about snake infestations, they required him to bring along snakes to place on the ground for the filming process, then edited the show to make it look like this family had a legit reason to abandon their home.

when the reality of it was, they needed his captive snakes to give the illusion of wild snakes overtaking a persons home.

Lame, can you sign something saying something along the lines of "I need to like the finished product"? I doubt it but a guy can hope.

Nope, the release forms simply state that you grant full permission to use your words and or images in any context that the producers please.

That's dangerous. Nothing like sitting around the TV to watch the show with your family and finding out as it first aires that the show was about breeding venomous snakes That you sell to schools..or importing illegal snakes to sell into the pet market. ..or why people should fear snakes. They can make up any story they want.

Since I am world renowned, I know all too much about this kind of stuff. Wayne is correct - you sign away usage rights and they can edit as they please.
