Yeah I was gonna say she looked on the lean side...nothing wrong with that. Though I do love a fat tailed leopard. Its just so cute to see those pudgy tails! Is she considered "normal" colored or is she a morph?

What do you feed him?
Maybe if he's a bit thin, cut down on the exercise.

Or uptake (is that a word?) the fat in his diet. What are some of those worms that are higher in fat than most insects you feed? Waxworms? Nightcrawlers? Can't remember.

nah her tail is abit thin, that is my fault as she wasnt fed for about a week as i started struggling with finances so m to blame on that 1 but saying that i dont think shes a fat tailed leo but i am unsure of that as all i know is that she is a standard leopard but as with nenna saying about fat tails i love them myself and would love to have 1 but my next leo is gunna be a super mack snow i think and go from there as i would like to breed from her 1 day with the SMS, just for the experience tbh. im hoping that breeding large locusts will help stock her up abit. how ever i am open to suggestions though lol

she is fed on a diet of crickets, locusts (large), waxworms (once every 2 weeks), meal worms (once a month), and she always has calcium and the feed animals are always fed 2 days before feeding to the gecko (named kecko), im hoping to get her a uv bulb at some point (a flourescent tube as thas what her tank uses but i dont know what type would be recommended - uvb rating)

Everyone around here always preaches the word of roaches...so you could probably find tons of info on that. As for me I would think throwing in some high fat worms would put on some weight. Feed them along with the normal stuff. Once the weight is on then just stop feeding the high fat stuffs.

Leopards are nocturnal so don't need a UV bulb of any kind. It can't hurt them but it doesn't benefit them either.

Hey reptiledanny even I have had problems with getting my bearded enough greens at one point. It doesn't make us incapable of taking care of them 100% of the time. People get on hard times for various reasons...doesn't mean that they will always be on hard times and certainly doesn't mean they can't own a pet. Just because you might not have had that point in your life doesn't mean others have not. I don't appreciate the harsh criticism when obviously Pets has the best of intentions in mind.

And speaking of colors I believe my question was overlooked (which is no problem) so I will ask again :)
Do you know if she is a "normal" of the species or some sort of morph? It is somewhat hard to tell from your photos...no insult meant.

sorry, i didnt see your question lol, its also hard to insult me so dont worry about it, yh theres loads of subspecies of leopard gecko`s, theres super mack snows, caramels, hypo bloods, and so on but to properly answer you question, yh my girl is classed as a normal leopard gecko, if you type in leopard gecko into google, yh should see the different species of leos, failing that, take a look at this website and you can get a better picture of them:

I am hoping to find a nice red/orange one that isn't considered albino. Read a care sheet that albino leopards can absorb to much light or something along those lines. But I know there are TONS of different morphs. Gone to 4 or 5 expos and just drooled over the variety of them all. Gonna be going again this weekend to a smaller local one.

Expos are a blast to go to but don't help a reptile addiction XD It is SO SO hard not to walk out with handfuls of stuff! From actual reptiles to tanks and everything else you can imagine. You have to go at least once Pets!

I would but my husband doesn't know I bought a new digital camera after he broke the screen of our last...4 And since he is going I cannot take pics. However I will see if I can borrow my in-laws when we drop off our son for the day when we go.
But I will be coming home with a leo that day when I go to the expo :)

Oh I will make a point to message you all about it! ;)
there are no sub species of leopard gecko, there are morphs, of which you speak of.
Fat tails are a whole different sub species of gecko, different to leos, although similar.
Diet wise, and size, the fact that she has a skinny tail (not that skinny anyway, certainly not something to worry about) is nothing whatsoever to do with exercise, its purely down to diet.
Wax worms shouldnt be fed on a fortnightly basis, more monthly, if at all, and only really as a treat or if very underweight, many people have found them to be almost addictive, and the animals will refuse to eat anything other than waxys. Meal worms are ok as a daily supplement, ours get them daily, and crickets of locusts every other day, depending on the time of year, we rarely give ours wax worms at all.
NennaMeerkat, have a look at tangerine tornadoes, and sunglows, although really good ones with lots of red are not cheap at all! Although you might be better over there on price than here!

Thanks for those suggestions. Right now I can afford upward to 200 dollars for one and I really don't know the prices of them until Saturday. Whatever I get I know I want to avoid solid whites/ghosts/albinos for the fact that they can have skin problems that I don't want to deal with.
