he was hiding until i took him out and handled him and took some pics. then he cruised when i put him back in his viv so i snapped some more pics. i bet he woulda been hiding if i never messed with him.

I love snake eyes when they are in blue :)

That's exactly how mine looks right now. I thought it is not good to handle snakes when in blue. I've been leaving mine alone except to say hi so he keeps hearing my voice. He does look up sometimes when I talk to him. Kinda cool!

Some snakes get aggressive when they are in blue because of their poor eyesight, some are just about the same.

When I first got mine he had the eye caps still, two of them on top of each other, but he was very calm and curious.

With him being in blue right now he is mainly moving from his warm to cool area and back again. I may take him out today to give him a warm bath to help with the shed because I don't want those eye caps again. Colorado is very dry but I've been able to keep the humidity in the tank at around 55.

Only concern I have is that he hasn't pooped in two weeks and there are no more bumps from the food. Also, today is feeding day so I wonder if I should feed or let him go through shedding first. Any recommendations?

There is nothing wrong with feeding while blue, and the only problem with feeding when they haven't pooped is if you know that have a blockage and cant poop.

How can I tell if he has a blockage and how do I unblock it? I was told baths and have them swim will help loosen things up.

Also, he had one poop about a week after I first got him and that poop was huge. Probably about three inches long and a quarter of an inch thick. He is only 2.5 feet (pretty much the size of yours) long so I thought that poop was a bit big.

I don't own a bp currently. But trust me, 1 week is nothing to worry about.
The cloaca looks off and there is a visual bulge around it. Haven't seen one in years though.
Baths can def help.

Dude?! He's in shed, leave him alone. It's stressful enough, but to have you snapping pics and manhandling him...

that was weeks ago but yea. i only held him for a few minutes and he wasn't even stressing. also he shed just fine. handling while in blue can make the shed stick to the new skin but i didn't even think about it at the time, next time i'll keep it in mind.

Yay, my babygirl (yes, He is a girl) just got done shedding. She was in blue for a couple of days and within two days she started shedding. It was great to watch. It took her only about an hour and she came out in one piece except for her head, I helped along with that. She looks sooooo beautiful and bold and shiny. Such a pretty girl.

As for knowing that she is a girl, I finally got proof without popping or probing. Once her skin was done shedding I looked closer at where the cloaca was and saw a sure sign that she is a girl. When it's a boy there are a couple of strings where the hemipenises would have been but there are none for a girl and the opening looks a bit different too. I spent a couple of hours looking at different sexing videos to learn about the different ways to find out what gender a snake is when I came across and explanation about the shed skin. Way cool and I'm so glad I know now for sure what she is.

You ant tell by the shed hemipenis that it is a girl. My "girl" corn shed about eight times with me with no sign of them and then one shed SHE proved that he was a HE. If there are signs of it then it proves the snake is male but if there are no signs of it then it doesnt prove it is female.
