Last night "Prince" my first ever captive garter slipped peacefully away from old age. I knew it was coming, snakes get a certain look to them when the final few weeks are upon them.
He was wild caught from our back yard in 2007 so his true age was unknown. His cage has been a permanent fixture of our living room the whole time, we always enjoyed his little face looking out at us as we watched TV.
Funny back story - My daughter named HIM "princess" and since he was a male, I just called him "Prince"
