I got a Crestie a while ago and my dad use to have all sorts of lizards/amphibians. I was thinking that i want another one. What is an intermediate lizard/amphibian that you can hold sometimes. I was thinking of a Pac man frog but I know that you cant hold them.

leopard geckos are fun and easy to take care of, so are beardies.
curly tails are cute and small, but they aren't easy to build trust with

I vote Leo too.

and it's all in the title of your thread ;)

"I'm just wondering" leaves a pretty broad scope of interpretation.. what are you wondering?? is it going to rain, gas prices still going up??

Not picking on you, just letting anyone who reads this know, it is very important that the title of your new thread includes what is on your mind at the time you post, or a lot of people may never open and read your post.

You put it in general discussion, that broadens it even more.

Come on any one

Give people a chance!! I was asleep during the 20 minutes between your two posts!

I would go for a small monitor - something like a spiny-tail - they are great animals, great personilities. Ours will run to the glass of his viv anytime anyone walks by and if a new person comes in the house he will climb up on his branch and stare at them the whole time they are there. If we get him out and introduce him then he will go and laze and go to sleep but he needs to meet everyone!!

Here is him looking for food (we were feeding the snakes at the time)

If you get a curly tail, remember that they are "social" animals. You will never find one in the wild alone, and in captivity the ones i kept separate died within 1-2 years and were never good eaters, the ones kept in groups of 3-5 did fantastically and lived for years.
Keep in mind that I've only owned Cuban curly tails, I haven't owned Haitians and don't know anyone who has.

Thanks alot im leaning toward curly tails I wont be able to get them until im in my new house in July. But its good to do the research before u get it right. In my new room I'm getting like 5 different big tanks built into my wall so I can have a different lizard/frog in each cage.

Can't go wrong with the smaller monitors and leopard geckos, and curlies are just fun to watch.
What frogs were you leaning towards

Snake maybe? Kenyan Sand boas, Garter snakes, Corn snakes, California kings are all great beginner snakes that you can hold. Even Garter snakes are really interesting.
Small water turtles like musk turtles are probably the most interesting thing to look at there are. They resent being handled.

I am not trying to be mean or harsh so please do not take it that way.
before you get a new pet make sure that you get everything under control with your current crestie. you'll have a better understanding of the animal and be better able to tel when something is wrong, you'll be much more confident in caring for it, especially if it is your first reptile/herp pet. That way when you do decide on what to get next you will not be stressed out trying to care for two animals, one of which that you do not think is eating.
Best wishes and let us know what you decide to get

I know that I will not be getting it soon. And I m going to deal with my crestie before I get another one. I thougt that it would be good to see what my options are. So I am going to deal with him and he is sheding already so that means that he is growing and I guess thats a good sign. Because if he wasnt eating he wouldnt be growing so he must be eating his CGD. I just dont see it.
