so, there i was with my gecko on my shoulder and i went and lifted up my tank lid to take a picture of my boa curled up in his tank as he loves curling up on top of a log against the lid (which is secure) so anyway, the gecko jumps off my shoulder onto the tank lid (i wasnt too concerned at this point) and then the brave girl starts crawling all over the boa, so i thought as i had the camera in my hand at the time, perfect photo opportunity (by the way shes perfectly fine after the pic was taken) so heres the picture, i hope u all enjoy:

Am with Sassy - to take the risk of opening a snakes cage with any other animal nearby is pretty silly - and to not immediately snatch him out of there ...............

Also both animals should still be in their quarentine period as you have only had them a few weeks so another reason why that is a bit stupid!

Not the smartest thing in the world, but very cool none the less.

thats is the most stupid thing you have done to date, you really have no idea what you are doing!

Just so you know, lizards are prime food for young boas, should you have been unlucky in your ignorance, you would have lost the gecko, and stood absolutely no chance in this world of being able to save him.
Even if what SSL said wasnt relevant, its still stupid for the above reason, and considering what she has said is totally relevant, it just compounds the situation even more!

Your cross contamination prevention methods are epically bad, almost beyond belief, and had not spoken to you before hand, i would have found it hard to believe, but pictures are pictures.

If people wish to find out why i am like this with him, PM me and i shall explain in detail, i wont post it on the forum though.

without doubt possibly the dumbest thing I have ever seen. downright mental.

once in a lifetime opportunity, that once in a lifetime opportunity should not have happened, also nice to know you have your lizards best welfare at heart but to go grab a camera instead, really does beggar belief.

You shouldn't walk around with your gecko on your shoulder. I was sitting once with my bearded dragon on my shoulder and he fell 2 or 3 feet and that was stupid. Also, Boa Constricrors eat rats, mice, chicken, duck, goose, lizards, hamsters, ferrets, certain breeds of small dog...

That snake could very easily eat that lizard.

When I was seven, I kept a laserta that was three or four times the width and almost the same length as my banded california kingsnake in a tank together. I thought if anything the snake had more to be worried about. Again I was seven. Information was a bit more spotty. I was still a moron for not keeping them apart. All was well for weeks, then one day my lizard was gone and the snake very tragically died because the lizard was too big for it and it damaged itself by eating it. It looked more like a distressed plantain than a snake. These things happen when you don't keep the animal in the right box with the right other animals.

Don't feel bad, but also, don't walk around with your lizard on your shoulder or let them be near eachother like this. Hold the lizard in your hand, and only let it walk freely if you're sitting down and you put it on your lap. Those leopard geckos can't hang on very well and even though they're mellow they can still slip off you or get spooked and jump etc.

and completely uncalled for. i'm all for informing the misinformed, i do it all the time myself, but to call the guy 'stupid' multiple times? some people have no tact and think their $hit doesn't stink. it just shows how insecure some people really are about themselves.

I stayed clear, and since the damage is done, I'm putting this to rest along with the others that really have no value here...
