My Lil Red Tail
04-17-11, 09:04 AM
Hello,
I am Chris from Brighton, TN. Years ago I had a Red Tail Boa and had taking her to the vet to get checked out and put her on the porch and enjoy the suns heat. Well the wife never liked her and wished I never got her. Well the wife took the lid off and my "Sweetie" got out and was never found. Sweetie was only 9" long and still yet a baby.
I own a sign shop and have lots of customers and some ask about my 19 year old Red Ear Slider which is a longer story about "Speedy".
Well, a lady came in a few months ago and ask about Speedy and I told the story and she asked me if I would want a snake. Me being me said, Sure I would, only if it is a Red Tail Boa. She said ok, I have one for you. She told me the story about "Baby" and I new I would take her in as a new family member as we have 8 cats (Fred, Sugar, Rye, Scottie, Lucky, Jack, Belle and Jersey) a dog (Riley) and of course Speedy my turtle.
Two months went by and didn't hear anything back from her about the snake until last Wednesday when she call and said, if I still want her to come and get her. She told me that they just didn't have the time to take care of Baby like she needs to be taking care of. She wasn't feed Baby in over a month (Wow). So I went right out there and rescued Baby and feed her Thursday and she was ready to eat. I feed Baby frozen rats because of the bad things that can happen with live rats bitting the snake and making them sick. She did say they feed her live rats, but Baby has eating two ( Feed her other one yesterday) frozen ones and loves them the same.
Baby is 79" so far and hoping her health is ok from the past life she had.
Going to built her a new home at my shop so customers can she her.
