hey everyone I am cleaning Lukes cage today and just wondering what some good cleaning products are to use...
I have this greenworks bath cleaner... says its all natural... would it be ok?
Natural ingredients are not necessarily chemical-free, non-toxic or all-animal-safe. Not saying Greenworks is bad, but I have read others recommend against using it. I personally use a vinegar and water mixture to clean my tanks, soak water bowls, etc. The most effective way to disinfect is probably a 10% bleach/water solution, but make sure to thoroughly rinse and dry. I have also heard good reviews on Hibitane.

Lmao!!!
I use hot hot water and sponge to fully clean tubs/cages but if something is stuck for spot cleaning Ill grab baby wipe..I swear those things could get rust off a bumper!!! and are 100% safe :D

10%bleach/water makes it sparkle and kills all the odors that I can't get out with regular soap. Lather, rinse, rinse, rinse, enjoy. I'd use disposable gloves even though it's diluted, it's still noticably caustic.
Is regular windex safe to use on the glass they don't come into contact on?

Mais oui.
Of course.

I enjoy watching my hyper active eye candy, so I have way too much glass in the house, soap and water is the first step, but it leaves water spots on the glass.

I would never use anything like that. If you wouldn't eat a bit of it by accident, they shouldn't be exposed to it.
I clean tanks with hot water and a cloth as well as isopropyl alcohol which kills a lot of germs as well as really lifting up poops etc. It evaporates in 30 seconds and there's no residue. If a tank is really gross and you can lift it, put it in the bathtub with a bit of warm water and a drop of dish soap and wash it with a cloth. Then rinse until you'd be willing to lick it :).
If the tank is too big, use a tiny bit of bleach mixed with water. Rub everything down. The bleach will evaporate but eventually this is going to eat the silicone away in your tank so probably not the best way to go.

That being said, everything I own 55 gallons or smaller, it's easier for me to stand them on end in the bathtub and use the shower on a hose to wash them out.
I get in trouble often for leaving stacks of feed boxes in the tub too.

I wash my cage furnishings in dishwater, just the same as if I was going to eat off them, rinse well with hot water and put them back in.
really nasty stuff soaks in a bucket of hot water and bleach, then I wash with dish detergent.

I set mine in the bathtub and run really hot water over it all with the shower.
works great.
Unless there is disease or mites in the cage, disinfecting it to operating room sterility is not necessary, really it's not.
10 minutes after you sterilize everything, your pet is just going to crap in there again anyhow.

LOL! So true. My cats are esp. bad for making use of a freshly cleaned litterbox, sometimes I haven't even put the lid back on and they're in there
