Calgary, AB – The Alberta Reptile & Amphibian Society (T.A.R.A.S.) announces their 22nd Annual Spring Show and Sale Saturday, April 30th (10am – 5pm) & Sunday, May 1st (10am – 4pm) at the The Marlborough Community Centre (636 Marlborough Way N.E.) Tickets for both days are available at the door.
Reptiles and Amphibians have become popular as pets. They are a responsibility as many live over 20 years and they require specialized ...care. The T.A.R.A.S. Spring Show & Sale allows people to learn from breeders and educators on proper reptile care.
“Although reptiles can make fantastic pets, T.A.R.A.S. Wants to encourage people to do their research prior to getting any pet. The show is a great opportunity to speak to the people who raise reptiles from babies and ensure you have the proper information before getting a pet,” said T.A.R.A.S. President Jason Clevett. “There is a constant stream of unwanted reptiles on websites like kijiji, and we would like to see that number go down. If people realize at an event like ours exactly what reptiles require, we hope that they will give serious thought before making their purchase. Some amazing educational displays make the show a fun day out for the entire family.”
This years show features the popular interactive Kids Corner, over 40 vendors, fantastic raffle prizes, the annual Terrarium Show & Competition. Special Guest The Calgary Zoo will be on hand with rare reptile artifacts.
T.A.R.A.S. is a provincially registered, non-profit organization, which was formed in 1984 to help provide a network of information for anyone interested in reptiles and amphibians. The goal of T.A.R.A.S. is to promote education, conservation and responsible pet ownership by offering a wide range of resources that deal with the proper care of these fascinating, but specialized, animals.
