not trying to be cheeky mate but he will eat a lot larger prey items

what age is he ?

small or most likely large weaner rats would do him fine

a carpet can take 2,3,4 times their girth in prey with no problems what so ever

very nice carpet you have there

cheers shaun

i was thinking the same thing actually that they were too small. The breeder i got him from said he eats this size mice. i could try larger ones next time :) im just glad he ate honestly! :)

Now that you know he is an eater i would try switching him to rats now, you will need to at slme point and imo the earlier the better. Just for a comparison my 18month old JCP last ate the same size rat as my 18month old SD retic, you WILL be shocked the size they take.

Oh and also have to say that is a VERY beautiful snake!!!!

That is one gorgeous snake. Just wait till he color up more the yellow will be neon. I still say it's a Jungle x Jaguar. The marking scream Jaguar.

i've been doing research and i am starting to believe that maybe he is a jungle x jaguar. if he is was $150 too much for him?

No you got one hell of a deal. Jags start out at $300.00 on up to $700.00. So you not only got a very beautiful snake, but you got the deal of the year. :)

I think it is a jag. If you paid $150 than you got a good deal. Coastal jags are anywhere from $250 for an ok jag all the way up to $700 for a big female. I have seen really nice Irian Jaya jags go for $1,000 and Diamond Jungle Jags go for $1,700 from certain breeders. If he is a Jungle jag than you got a good deal.

its definatly a jag and you got a bargain at that price as he is a very nice one

you are better getting him onto rats straight away as it can be hard to get older carpets to cross from mice to rats and if they get stuck on mice it takes an awfull lot of mice each feed to stop your jag being hungry mate

cheers shaun
