I had no idea there were adders in Finland, or any snakes for that matter!

Great looking snakes. Snakes generally don't go onto the snow and ice, its always interesting to see a snake in that situation.

Nice shots of a beautiful animal! There is nothing better than viewing a wild animal go about its business.

we have adders here in the uk they are our only venomous snake and look very similar to the finish one's

It is the same species of adder, known as Vipera berus. It's one of the most widely spread snake in the world.

That's the only venomous snake that's ever bitten me :).
I'm glad it's a weak venom. I got bitten in Spain. I didn't know they were so wide spread either. Especially in the UK! That's wild. I imagine that's something that smuggled it's way onto ships a few hundred years back? I don't think the species would be so old that it was on the British Isles before they broke off from Europe kajillions of years ago.

Great to see how tough and resilient the Adder is. Being the world's most northern distributed snake and venturing out even when there's still snow on the ground is impressive.
