My female RTB does this weird thing where her throat puffs like a bullfrog. Sometimes while she's just slithering along I hear her hissing for no reason(maybe she's just always angry since the pregnancy?:). It doesn't sound raspy at all. I see no secretions or " bubble blowing" around her mouth/nostrils. Not very often but once in a while after drinking she drools. She's had mouth rot and and RI before and I knocked it out with several vials of Baytril, but this doesn't seem like the other times.
She is also housed with a male RTB and he shows no signs like this, so if it was RI he would have it too, right?
My local pet shop guy said the throat puffing can be normal if it's being defensive. Just wanted a few other opinions. Baytril is expensive so I don't want to buy it unless necesarry, he said it wasn't. What do you guys think?
