Elizabeth popped out 13 babies between about 11am and now (4pm). 3 have dark eyes, the rest look like ruby eyes.

I am expecting all dumbo, 1/2 rex and 1/2 velveteen, patterns anywhere from berkshire to masked, colors in Agouti, Black, Fawn, Beige, Russian Blue, Russian Agouti, Blue Beige, Russian Fawn, slight chance of UK mink in the mix bringing in ?? UK Mink, Cinnamon, Dove, Platinum, Triple Dilutes, some of the combos don't have names as far as I know.

That's a lot of colors from one breeding! LOL. I can't wait till about a week from now when I should be able to tell the colors and patterns :D

Thanks everyone :)

Hello there from Denver! I got my corns in the springs :)

Calypso (Elizabeth's sister) just had hers now, 13 also! I can't believe Tia hasn't popped yet, she is SO big. Her belly is as round as a baseball, slightly bigger.

Been sick again. *sigh* I HAVE to get pics up today, the babies are beyond cute. It's going to be REALLY hard to pick which will be keepers and which will be feeders. I got a LOT of surprises! Ended up with minks, siamese, and american blue, all were a very small chance since grandpa was about %5-10 het. There are burmese, NO IDEA where that came from! Then of coarse the colors I knew would be in there (agouti, black, russian blue, beige, fawn, and combos of those) The variety of markings and colors in this bunch are insane. There is maybe even chocolate thrown in the mix, but I can't confirm that without a lot of test breeding, may just be dark burmese or dark minks. As soon as Bryan wakes up for work and I can turn the light on I'll post some pics :D

CRAZY babies to come out of agouti, black, and fawn berkshires and irish.

AND I have 2 gravid female corns, possibly 3! Can't wait to see those babies in a few months. Gotta turn up the ASF breeding a few notches and stock up. I'm going to be needing tons of pinkies!

I long ago severed my emotional attachement to baby rats.
It was tough, but breeding them solely for feeder purposes, it was difficult to cull them if I had an attachement to them.

if i bred my own feeders i would have to do the same mykee and see and think of them as food and only food...!!

cheers shaun

It's not so much an emotional attachment as it is having to be selective what colors/patterns to hold back for breeding. Usually I would have one or two types in a litter but these litters are crazy. I for sure need to hold back a russian blue or two with minimal coloring, that was the main purpose of these litters. I will have to wait another couple weeks to decide for sure when it's a little easier to judge their type (body shape/ proportions).
