I was wondering, for my future knowledge, how many times a fully matured male can be bred safely in a season? Just as a general rule?

As the title suggests, this would be to isolate the genetics of a snake.

I've had a few males breed 3-4 times in a season. I doubt this is a max but as a general rule, give your snake 3 days off every 3 days he is "put to work" if he breeds of the first of three days, give him three days off from that point on.

I had a male spider eight years ago that bred 8 females in one season, all successfully.
I generally stick to a maximum of six, only because thay puts the male with each female once a month.
Most of my males (because I have so many) have 3-5 girlfriends during a season. I try not to stretch them out too think,

Okay, so it seems like for male snakes at full sexual maturity, there aren't many health risks for overbreeding, it's just a question of actual success rate; 4-6 is the maximum number of breedings one can expect to result in success. Would that be correct?

Does it shorten their life span? or only females?

Nope.
Females neither.
Just irresponsible and greedy to breed your girls too young.
Also, since I can no longer edit posts after 10 minutes, I apolugize fur al thu spellen erors in my previus post.

Oh, power feeding for sure will shorten the life of any creature, cold-blooded or not.
How long do you think a 200 pound nine year old boy will live?
How about a 1200g yearling male ball python?

Definitely not as long as they should. That doesn't even really help them reach sexual maturity in a more timely fashion, does it? I know it doesn't really help humans, but we have completely different physiology.

Heh, it's kinda funny to think of an obese child as "power-fed". Indubitably, that's what's going on to an extent, but it's still odd to think of that way lol.

I've never been big on power feeding. But knowing that it won't help get them to breed state faster helps out a lot. I never thought of breeding any of my BP's until just recently.
