i currently a have a fish tank measuring 101cm long x 27cm wide x 40cm deep and im thinking of doing a fully planted, habitat for gecko`s, it will house possibly 3 geckos, my current leo female, an albino fat tail and either a pinstripe leo or an outcrossed leo, they will all be females so theres no probs there.
im asking for the best ideas, such as substrate, plants and so on.
im hoping to create a natural habitat for them, having a "desert area at 1 end of the tank and a rainforest sort of effect at the other, but im completely open to ideas and the finished product will be shown on here so dont worry lol.
thanks all

I have recently started converting all my Vivs to live planted. I have reasearched the live plants that are gecko safe and this is the list.
aeschynanthus
columnea
dischidia
hoya
neoregelias
peperomia
sansevieria
selaginella
African violet
begonias
weeping fig
ferns
ivy
pothos
dracaena
Best to use an all natural quality potting soil with no chemical additives or fertilizers.
As far as having a desert and rainforest side I have not converted a tank big enough to do that yet.
Here is some pics of my tanks.

ah ok cheers guys, im defo gunna do a natural tank but ive seen a fogging machine and was quite curious to whether i can put 1 in there just for the effect and not have it effecting the gecko, there will eventually be 2 geckos in the tank but for now just the 1, the fogging machine that i have seen is the 1 in maplin with the led`s.
there 60 quid!!!!! u can buy an exo terra fogger for 20 from surrey pet supplies. main problem u will have with any ultra sonic fogger like either of those is it has to be imersed in 2-3inch of water minimum to work, an then its going to really raise the humidity

this is the 1 that im thinking of: MiniFogger with MultiColoured Lighting : Garden Pumps : Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/mini-fogger-with-multi-coloured-lighting-35219)
ahh ok but still needs the same water depth to work, an do u need a really high humidity as thats what willl happen too

no, its a leopard gecko tank thats gunna be used to breed a normal leo with a super mack snow so the humidity is fine at about 50%, the fogger was just to give a rainforest effect with the real plants aswel, as the fogger would (i imagine) help with the watering of the plants but this is still in the research and preperation side of things.
yeah but that fogger will proberly raise ya humidity to near 100% if ya not carful
